Bridgeport, NJ – Lambertville, NJ driver, Cale Ross becomes just the fifth driver this season to reach Weaknecht Archery Victory Lane at the Bridgeport Motorsports Park after picking up the win in the Danny’s Pizza Pizzazz Modifieds on EZ Work Trucks night. Ryan Godown, Jr. raced to his fifth win in the Precision Hydraulic & Oil 602 Sportsman feature just one week before Championship Night on the High Banks. TJ Henry raced his way to the win in the Street Stock feature while Rich Janney and Kevin Nagy were the EZ Work Truck winners in the Delaware Auto Exchange Mid Atlantic Sprint Series (MASS) twin fifteen feature events.

Ross has been working hard to improve his performance with his B&T Tools No. 112 since making the switch in Saturday night venues earlier this season. “We’ve been trying to get better and actually made things worse,” Ross said after the win, “but we found something.”

The thirty lap Modified feature saw three different leaders in the first three laps of the feature. Ron Roberts grabbed the lead on the start and led lap one. Davey Sammons had the advantage on lap two as he raced to the line with Ross. Ross was out front on lap three and led the remaining laps to the checkered.

Sammy Martz, Jr. had his best night as a Modified Rookie as he chased Ross to the checkered. Martz was closing in on the leader as the laps counted down and the leaders raced through lapped traffic. Sammons finished third followed by Richie Pratt, Jr. and Ryan Godown. Godown and Billy Pauch, Jr. battled for fifth for many laps with Godown finally securing the spot in the final laps. Pauch finished sixth which puts him just eight points behind Godown as they head into Championship Night next Saturday. Neal Williams finished seventh followed by Dominick Buffalino, HJ Bunting and Tommy Beamer.

Steven Yankowski led the first two laps of the 602 Sportsman feature before Godown, Jr. took the lead on lap three. Yankowski had his best finish of the season as he raced to a runner-up finish ahead of Ethan Bill and Travis Hill. Brian Papiez finished fifth. Howie Finch finished sixth followed by Bryan Brobst, Trent Willy, Matt Ellery and Brandon Watkins.

TJ Henry took the lead in the EZ Work Trucks Street Stock feature on a lap six restart. Jeramy Doerr led the way for the first five circuits. Mike Hughes raced by on a lap six restart but it was Henry who had the lead as the field crossed the stripe at the end of six.

Henry led the rest of the way to the checkered over Hughes, Tom Wills, Jr., Lee Allen and Jeff Dirkes.

Rich Janney got some redemption after an early season crash as he won the first of two fifteen lap feature events for the MASS sprint cars. Janney led all the way to the checkered with pressure from Dave Brown as they headed to the finish. Jon Brennfleck finished third over Kevin Nagy and DJ Tanner.

The dice were rolled to determine the invert for the second fifteen lap feature, putting sixth place finisher, Aidan Borden on the pole for the second race.

Borden led through lap seven and then pulled off during the caution on lap eight. Borden’s No. 7 suffered a flat tire after contact was made following a previous restart. Nagy inherited the lead on the restart and the defending MASS Champion raced to the win over Brown, Tim Iulg, point leader, Buddy Schweibinz and DJ Tanner.

Bridgeport, NJ – Ryan Godown raced his R&M Motorsports No. 26 to victory in the Ron Fasion Memorial forty lap feature event for the Danny’s Pizza Pizzazz Modifieds at the Bridgeport Motorsports Park and collected the $6,000 payday. It was Godown’s thirteenth Bridgeport win of the season and his second win in a row since his seven race streak ended three weeks ago.

Saturday night’s race was sponsored by Ice Less.

Ethan Bill raced to his second win of the season in the Precision Hydraulic & Oil 602 Sportsman feature while Lee Allen picked up win number six in the Izzy Trucking Street Stocks.

It’s a little to soon to tell if this win is the beginning of another win streak for Godown but the odds makers aren’t betting against him!

Matt Peck and Ron Roberts led the field to the start of the Ron Faison Memorial race, postponed due to weather earlier in the season. Roger Manning raced from his third place start to take the lead.

Manning led through the lap fifteen with Godown moving into second on lap fourteen and Sammy Martz, Jr., Ryan Krachun and Jim Gallagher, Jr. completing the top five.

Godown raced by Manning to take the lead on the next lap. Krachun raced into second after a three wide battle with Manning and Billy Pauch, Jr. Godown led Krachun, Pauch, Manning and Sammy Martz Jr. who was battling with Ryan Watt for fifth.

With Godown pulling away from the field, Krachun and Pauch waged a back and forth battle for second with Pauch claiming the position on lap twenty-six after the two drivers traded slide jobs. Godown raced into lapped traffic as Watt raced into fourth.

The caution waved with thirty-two laps scored as HJ Bunting and the Blue Hen No. 30 headed to the pits to change a right rear flat. The double file restart gave everyone another shot at the leader as Pauch, Krachun and Watt went three wide for second. Krachun got way to the outside in turns one and two, allowing Watt to move into third and Danny Bouc a look at fourth.

Godown raced to the victory over Pauch, Jr., Watt, Krachun and Bouc. Neal Williams finished sixth followed by Jim Gallagher, Jr., Dominick Buffalino, Bunting and Martz, Jr.

Richie Pratt, Jr. won the five lap dash race sponsored by Izzy Trucking as part of the Ron Faison Memorial. Pratt raced ahead of Godown, Watt and Pauch, Jr. to take the win.

2022 DA’s Auto Body & Repair Rookie Champion, Thomas Prychka took the lead at the start and had the field covered through lap sixteenof the Precision Hydraulic & Oil 602 Sportsman feature. Prychka led Ethan Bill, Steven Yankowski, Matt Ellery and Brian Papiez though lap fifteen but Prychka slowed the next time around the track. First plagued by a power steering failure, Prychka was then sidelined when a fan belt broke and the car overheated.

Bill picked up where Prychka left off, racing to the checkered for his second win of the season. A pair of late race cautions helped to jumble the field as they headed to the finish. Ellery finished second followed by Ryan Godown, Jr., Yankowski and Bryan Brobst. Brian Papiez, Howie Finch, Travis Hill, Wayne Weaver and Brian McKinney completed the top ten.

Lee Allen returned to Weaknecht Archery Victory Lane for his sixth win of the season in the Izzy Truck Street Stock feature event. Allen raced pole sitter and three time feature winner, Jeff Dirkes for the lead on the start and then kept the No. 98B out in front to the checkered. The race was for second as Dirkes, Jeramy Doerr, Mike Hughes and Tom Wills, Jr. battled for top five positions throughout the race.

Allen took the win over Dirkes, Doerr, Hughes and Wills, Jr.

The countdown is on as the crowning of the season champions is quickly approaching. Next Saturday night the Modifieds, 602 Sportsman and Street Stocks will be joined by the Delaware Auto Exchantge Mid Atlantic Sprint Series to celebrate the Labor Day weekend.

Bridgeport, NJ – Defending Bridgeport Champion, Ryan Godown’s win streak came to an end at seven as Billy Pauch, Jr. raced to the victory in the Danny’s Pizza Pizzazz Modified feature event. 2021 DA’s Auto Body & Repair Rookie Champion, Ethan Bill raced to a career first win in the Precision Hydraulic & Oil 602 Sportsman feature. Tom Wills, Jr. raced by Nick Sandone III late in the race to win his second EZ Work Truck feature event of the season. Geoffrey Sutton repeated his efforts from earlier this season and picked up the win in the Xcel 600 feature event. Saturday night’s program was sponsored by Ice Less.

The race met the criteria – Godown finished fifth at the wave of the checkered flag and Pauch collected the prize money and the bounty for the $5,000 payday. Godown had to be running at the end of the race in order to satisfy the qualifications for the bounty and he was. However, Godown was forced to restart from the back of the field following a lap six restart that saw Godown and the No, 26 turned around and off the track in turn four. The body on the Camp Out No. 26 was mangled – the right side of the car elevated from its original position and the damage was not just cosmetic but Godown took his position at the rear of the field with twenty-five laps remaining.

Polesitter, Brad Roberts grabbed the lead on the start and led through lap five, including several restarts after cars slowed with issues, bringing out the caution flag several times. On the second attempt to get lap six scored, Roberts raced three wide with Jim Gallagher and Ryan Krachun for the lead. Krachun won the battle followed by Gallagher as Dominick Buffalino raced the Big Spring Car Wash No. 126 into third and Pauch followed in fourth. Krachun, who holds the one lap record for the Modifieds on the High Banks, raced ahead. One lap later, Pauch took over second and set his sights on Krachun.

Krachun, Pauch and Buffalino raced in the top three with Ryan Watt in fourth after starting in seventeenth and Sam Martz completing the top five.

Krachun used the inside for every restart just as he did on lap eighteen as he and Pauch raced side by side down the backstretch and Watt raced into third. Pauch p​ulled ahead of Krachun when the two drivers exited turn two.

HJ Bunting raced the Blue Hen No. 30 into the top five, trailing Pauch and Krachun with ten to go as Buffalino and Watt trailed the leaders. Buffalino, Watt and then Godown raced by Bunting in the final laps to secure top five finishes.

Pauch raced to the win over Krachun, Buffalino, Watt and Godown. Neal Williams finished sixth followed by Bunting, Martz, Tommy Beamer and Davey Sammons.

Ethan Bill raced to his first win in the Precision Hydraulic & Oil 602 Sportsman, leading from the wave of the green to the checkered. Bill has come close on several occasions but was finally able to seal the deal on Saturday night.

Pete Serra raced in second behind Bill until Greg Humlhanz and Howie Finch raced by at mid-race. Travis Hill raced into the top five by half way.

Humlhanz and Finch battled through the late stages of the race as Bill raced into lapped traffic.

Bill was headed to the checkered flag when Eric Matson and Ethan Young tangled on the final lap. Everyone had one chance as the field raced to the green and then the checkered.

Bill took the win over Humlhanz, Finch, Hill and Brian Papiez who raced into fifth on the final lap. Steve Yankowski finished sixth followed by Serra

Nick Sandone led the way in the EZ Work Truck Street Stock feature through lap ten when defending champion, Tom Wills, Jr. challenged Sandone for the lead. Wills took the lead and raced to his second win of the 2022 season. Sandone finished second in spite of handling issues that plagued the NS3 late in the race. Jeff Dirkes finished third followed by last week’s winner, Jeramy Doerr and current point leader, Lee Allen.

The Xcel 600 Modifieds made their second appearance of the 2022 season with Geoffrey Sutton again racing to the win in the fifteen lap feature event. Tyler Bartik finished second followed by Eric Whitby, Richie Hitzler and Justin Schraden.

Action returns to the Kingdom of Speed on Saturday with the Delaware Auto Exchange Mid Atlantic Sprint Series joining the Modifieds, 602 Sportsman and Street Stocks for the show.

Bridgeport, NJ – The record stands at seven wins in a row as Ryan Godown and his R&M Motorsports Team continues their winning ways at the Bridgeport Motorsports Park. Win number eleven was an exciting one as Tommy Beamer had the Thornton Gulf No. 31 out in front for twenty-two laps and twelve of those laps were with Ryan Godown racing in second!

Brian Papiez raced the Adams Motorsports No. 37 to their third win of the 2022 season while Jeramy Doerr picked up his first win of the season in the Street Stock competition. Justin Dunn raced to the win in the Four Cylinder feature event.

The showdown at sundown was presented by Church’s Auto Parts.

While the rest of the racing world tracks the wins and the records, the bounties and the rewards, Ryan Godown continues to race one race at a time. “I really try to lock out the noise,” the defending track champion explained. “It’s hard!”

“He’s just that good,” Tommy Beamer said after turning in his best performance of the season. “I guess that’s how we should look at it – ‘it took him however many laps to get me,” Beamer added with a laugh. Beamer was a worthy opponent, holding off the pass for the lead until lap twenty-three. “I was a little tight and I didn’t want to run it in there too hard,” Beamer explained. “And that’s where Ryan gets you – he rotates those corners so good.”

Neal Williams just shook his head. He is determined get that Sal DeBruno No. 0 out in front. “I had my foot all the way to the floor,” Williams said after collecting his second consecutive third place finish.

With Beamer out in front from the start, Williams raced into second on lap two. Billy Osmun III and Ryan Krahcun battled for third with Brad Roberts rounding out the top five through the early going. Godown marched into the top five following a lap seven restart. He was racing Williams for second when lap ten was completed.

By halfway, Billy Pauch, Jr., Sam Martz and Ryan Watt were battling for a top five spot. Pauch cracked the top five with ten laps to go.

Godown took the Danny’s Pizza Pizzazz Modified win over Beamer, Williams, Pauch and Krachun. Watt finished sixth followed by Martz, Osmun, HJ Bunting and Richie Pratt, Jr.

F&L Door heat races were won by Williams, Brad Roberts and Beamer with Mike Franz picking up the win in the consolation.

2022 Rookie Champion, Thomas Prychka led the first lap of the Precision Hydraulic & Oil 602 Sportsman feature in his last race before his seventeenth birthday. Papiez was the leader following a lap two restart. “You’ve got to get out there and run away and hide,” Papiez said after picking up this third victory of the season.

Travis Hill finished second after battling with current point leader, Ryan Godown, Jr. for the second half of the race. Godown finished third followed by Wayne Weaver and last week’s feature winner, Matt Ellery. Trent Willey finished sixth with Howie Finch, Eric Korman, Brandon Watkins and Tom Moore rounding out the top ten.

Hoffman Discount Parts heat races were won by Willey, Ellery and Hill.

After many weeks of trying and getting close, Jeramy Doerr, finally, won the EZ Works Truck Street Stock feature for his first win of the season.

Doerr has been so close, so many times but on Saturday night, he finally put the Bill O’Brien owned No. 3:16 into Weaknecht Archery Victory Lane. Doerr dedicated this win to his mother who passed away earlier this season.

TJ Henry finished second followed by Mike Hughes, Lee Allen and Jeff Dirkes. Tom Wills, Jr., Cole Stangle, Drew Brocklebank, Mike Creamer and Nick Sandone III completed the top ten at the finish.

Justin Dunn was the flag-to-flag winner of the EZ Work Trucks Four Cylinder feature event over Joe Garey, Sr. Joe Biederman, Ed Ford and Tim Jones.

Racing returns to the high banks next Saturday night with the Modifieds, 602 Sportsman, Street Stocks and Xcel 600 Modifieds.

Bridgeport, NJ – Records were broken on Saturday night as Ryan Godown raced to his sixth win in a row on the high banks of the Bridgeport Motorsports Park in the Danny’s Pizza Pizzazz Modified feature event.  EZ Work Trucks sponsored the night of racing as history was being made.

Matt Ellery raced to the first win of his career in the Precision Hydraulic & Oil 602 Sportsman feature after being so close on several occasions.  Jeff Dirkes raced to his third win of the season in the Triple R Truck Parts Street Stocks.  Kevin Nagy raced to second win of the season in the Delaware Auto Exchange Mid Atlantic Sprint Series.

The previous Bridgeport record was for five consecutive wins shared by both Kenny Brightbill and Wade Hendrickson.  Of course, those records were set on the old 5/8th mile track while Godown’s mark was made on the new track configuration.  Six wins in a row will not only be the new mark in Bridgeport history but the mark to beat in the current Bridgeport record book for the 4/10 mile track.

The Modified feature saw Mike Franz jump into the lead on the start.  The caution waved with one lap on the books and Roger Manning raced by Franz to take the lead on the restart.  Manning led the way through lap ten but Neal Williams raced into the lead on a lap eleven restart.  

Williams led the way through halfway with Godown, Billy Pauch, Jr., Manning and Billy Osmun III trailing the leader.

Williams was closing in on the back of the field.  As he raced his way through the lapped traffic, Godown raced by to take the lead on lap twenty-two.  “I got a little free on me,” Williams explained.  “I could feel the right rear getting out from under me when I got to the lapped traffic,” Williams added.

Pauch raced into second one lap later.  Williams, Ryan Watt and Manning made up the top five as the field headed into the final five laps.  

Godown raced to the checkered for his tenth Bridgeport win of the season over Pauch, Williams, Watt and Manning.  Osmun finished sixth followed by Ryan Krachun, Richie Pratt, Jr., Cale Ross and Sammy Martz, Jr.  

“I race one race at a time,” Godown commented.  “This crew works hard every week.  We keep making small changes to get better.”

It was a successful night for the R&M Team with Godown and Ellery taking feature wins and Ryan Godown, Jr. finishing second.

F&L Door heat races were won by Osmun, Watt and Williams with Sammy Martz, Jr. picking up the win in the consolation.

After many close finishes, Matt Ellery raced to his first Precision Hydraulic &Oil 602 Sportsman feature of his career.  A former micro sprint competitor, Ellery is in just his second full season in the 602 Sportsman.  He picked up a win in a non-winner’s race at the end of last season. 

“I was waiting for the caution to come out,” Ellery stated following his win.  “That’s what usually happens when I am leading a race.”  But on this night, there weren’t any late race cautions and Ellery raced to the checkered first.

Brian Papiez and Ethan Bill were racing for second as they dealt with heavy lapped traffic.  Ryan Godown, Jr. took advantage of the situation and dove to the bottom of the track to take second late in the race.  Papiez finished third with Bill taking fourth.  Howie Finch rounded out the top five.

Brandon Shipley finished sixth followed by Travis Hill, Trent Willey, Wayne Weaver and Brian Rogers to complete the top ten in the running order.

Hoffman Discount Parts heat races were won by Ryan McKinney, Ellery and Hill.  

Jeff Dirkes raced to his second win in a row and third win of the season in the Triple R Truck Parts Street Stocks.  Dirkes led all fifteen laps to take the win over point leader and five time feature winner, Lee Allen.  Jeramy Doerr finished third followed by Mike Hughes and TJ Henry.  

Mike Hughes picked up the win in the TW Metals heat race.

A full field of 305 sprint cars were on hand for the Delaware Auto Exchange Mid Atlantic Sprint Series (MASS).  Their feature event saw Kevin Nagy return to the Weaknecht Archery Victory Lane for his second win of the season.

Nagy was a big winner in MASS events at Bridgeport last season and captured the 2021 MASS Championship but the 2022 season has been a challenge for the defending champion.  “This is the best I’ve felt so far this season,” Nagy explained.  “I have speed early in the night but something happens later in the night.”

Nagy led from the green to the checkered as he raced ahead of Jon Brennfleck for the win sponsored by EZ Work Trucks.  Aidan Borden and Brennfleck had traded the runner-up spot during the feature.  Current MASS point leader, Buddy Schweibinz seemed to get better as the race progressed, challenging Borden for third.  Schweibinz won the spot in the end with Borden and Mike Melair finishing fourth and fifth.

Dave Grube, Eddie Wagner, Tim Iulg, Rick Stief and Mark Bitner rounded out the top ten.

EZ Finance Trucks/Cornell H&E heat races were won by Borden, Jason Dunn, Wagner and Rich Janney.  Joe Kay was the winner of the consolation.  

Racing returns to the Kingdom of Speed on Saturday with Modifieds, 602 Sportsman, Street Stocks and 4 Cylinders.  Don’t forget to mark your calendars for Thursday, August 25th when the All Star Circuit of Champions makes their first ever appearance at the Bridgeport Motorsports Park.
