A Busy Summer at Bridgeport, Rose Announces August 30th Off

The 2025 season at Bridgeport Motorsports Park has been nothing short of relentless, yet very successful. With only two rain-outs all year and none since April 12th, the speedway has delivered action every Saturday night, packing the summer with 20 consecutive events.

During the drivers meeting, track owner and promoter Doug Rose made a rare announcement: there will be no racing on Saturday, August 30th. The decision gives racers, crews, and fans a much-needed planned weekend off.

“When creating a schedule during the off-season, you count on a few rain-outs to give everyone a natural break,” explained Rose. “That just didn’t happen this year. With school starting back up and families wrapping up summer, we felt Labor Day weekend was a perfect time to give everyone a chance to recharge and spend time with loved ones.”

While many Northeast tracks battled rain-outs early in the year, Bridgeport successfully navigated unreliable forecasts and tough calls to keep racing. Unlike previous ownership that often scheduled a light August due to heat and burnout, Rose has taken a different approach. “We schedule every possible date and let the rain-outs fall where they may. You never know what the season will bring.” This year, the rain-outs simply didn’t come. The result was an impressive, action-packed stretch at the Kingdom of Speed.

Fans and teams can enjoy the rare break on August 30th, before the final stretch of the season kicks into gear.

This coming Saturday night, the Modifieds will rumble for 50 laps with $5,000 on the line for the winner. Point races for the Modified division will follow on the next two Saturdays, August 16 and 23, before the Labor Day break.

After the Labor Day break, Bridgeport returns to action with the Super Late Models headlining the Saturday, September 6th event, with $10,000 going to the winner. The Sportsman and 305 Sprints are part of the program.

The Modifieds  return on Saturday, September 13 for the  point season finale for all weekly divisions. The sesaon final race for the Modifieds will be the annual Danny Serrano Memorial 60-lapper, paying $7,000 to win on Saturday, October 4.

The Sportsman Modifieds have their big weekend on October 10 and 11 when their $10,000-to-win Nationals are held. The MASS 305 Sprints, a series featured often during the season, will headline the two-day Ron Faison Memorial Weekend on October 18 and 19.

Sprint Cars, which are playing a much larger role at Bridgeport, will be featured in two huge events for the winged 410s. The national High Limit Series owned by Kyle Larson and Brad Sweet returns to the high banks on Saturday, September 27, after a one-year absence. The world’s fastest Sprinters then close out the season at the speedway with the annual Dirty Jersey Finale on October 31st and November 1st, along with the USAC East Coast wingless Sprints.
