CHECK THE RADAR – EASTERN STORM IS HEADED FOR BRIDGEPORT

History will be made at the Design for Vision/Sunglass Central 3/8th mile track at the Bridgeport Speedway on Monday, June 18th when the wingless 410 sprint cars of the United Auto Racing Club (USAC) make their way to New Jersey for their one and only appearance in the Garden State this season.

It will mark the first time that the USAC competitors have raced at the Bridgeport Speedway in the history of the racing facility.  They will also be the first wingless open cockpit cars to compete on the new 3/8th mile track.  The 600cc Micro Sprints will put on the wings to be part of this double header production.

Tyler Courtney – the driver of the Clauson/Marshall/Newman #7BC – leads the USAC competitors with four victories before the start of the six race Eastern Storm, picking up a win at Knoxville just days before.  While Courtney leads in the win column, it is Kevin Thomas Jr. who leads in points with the Dynamics, Inc. No. 69.  Thomas has collected three wins so far this season.  Chase Stockton, the People’s Champ, Dave Darland, Brady Bacon and Chris Windom have each captured one victory so far this season.  Trailing Thomas & Courtney in points are Windom, Stockton, CJ Leary, Robert Ballou, Bacon, Darland, Justin Grant and Chad Boespflug.  That is just a few of the stars of USAC that fans will have the opportunity to see in action on the new Design for Vision/Sunglass Central 3/8th mile speedway!

The Winged 600 Micro Sprints will provide plenty of side by side racing of their own when they take to the 3/8th mile surface for the first time.

Pit gates open at 3pm with grandstands at 5pm.  Racing gets underway at 7:30pm.  Reserved seating is available for $35.  General admission to the grandstand will be $30 with kids 10-15 for $15 and children 9 and under will be admitted for free.  Pit admission will be $40.

As always, plan to arrive early and enjoy all that the Bridgeport Speedway has to offer!  Live music, great concessions, a Bounce House and a big wooden monster truck for the kids to play on and as always, rides to the pits on the Bandit Bus for a look behind the scenes before the racing gets underway.  Take home a Bridgeport Speedway souvenir or a copy of the Bridgeport Bullet, the official program of the Bridgeport Speedway.
The Bridgeport Speedway continues to provide a safe, fun and family oriented environment for the world’s greatest racing entertainment.
