Bridgeport Speedway Loses Saturday Program to Mother Nature

Bridgeport, NJ – With morning showers and a heavy, steady rainfall predicted to last throughout the entire day, Bridgeport Speedway was forced to cancel their annual ‘Driver Appreciation Night’ sponsored by Joy Auto Parts.  “Just like I said on Monday, we race then it rains again.  It’s difficult to get some momentum going,” offered general manager Danny Serrano.  “We had an awesome show here on Wednesday on the 3/8 and last night on the 1/4 mile but, I guess the 5/8 wasn’t in the cards this time.  We had a great BBQ planned for all the drivers to thank them for their support and I know Mr. Luzi from Joy Auto’s gotta be bummed as he was looking to have a great night out with his company,” Serrano added.

Bridgeport’s 5/8 will swing back in action next Saturday night July, 28 with ‘Mechanics Night’ with the Spirit Auto Center Big Blocks, Stewart Stainless 602 Crate Sportsman, and Pennco Tech Outlaw Stocks.  The mechanics/crew chiefs will get their shot in the limelight on the 1/4 mile at the conclusion of the evening in each of the divisions next week.  Drivers and crews should keep an eye out to the rescheduled date for the driver appreciation BBQ which will be announced as soon as a date is locked in.  For more information you can visit www.bpspeedway.com, follow the track on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
