Bridgeport, NJ – There has been a lot of excitement surrounding the upcoming 2022 season at the Bridgeport Motorsports Park. As the days of the off-season dwindle and the new season approaches, the anticipation grows for what lies ahead.

For starters, Doug and Brittany Rose will lead the Kingdom of Speed through the track’s 50th Anniversary season and that celebration will begin on opening day and continue through the year until the final checkered waves.

The Roses have already brought so much to Bridgeport. The 4/10th mile, high banked track has produced some of the best racing around in all divisions. They have continued to offer the popular and successful shows of the past while adding other first-time events in 2022.

Whether it’s the special shows like the Saturday night Rumble in the Kingdom events for the Danny’s Pizza Pizzazz Modifieds or the Precision Hydraulic & Oil Sportsman making three mid-week appearances this season or the more than twenty sprint car events, excitement is in the air and Bridgeport’s Street Stock Division is right in the middle of the flurry of activity. The full fendered division has not been left out of the plans for this exciting season!

Street Stock competitors have been encouraged to paint their cars to reflect an iconic NASCAR Cup Series car. The paint scheme will offer fans another level to connect with the competitors. A fifty-dollar bonus will be paid to the first two NASCAR themed cars across the finish line each week.

2021 Street Stock Champion, Tom Wills, Jr. has spent the off-season preparing his family-owned entry for the new season. The Wills entry will display the famed colors of the seven-time NASCAR champion, Richard Petty. There have been more than cosmetic changes made over the winter as Tom Wills, Sr and Jr. have done some upgrading and made some changes that they think will improve their performance this season.

Nick Sandone and his crew will reveal their NASCAR tribute on opening day. There has been a lot of speculation surrounding Sandone’s paint scheme, but Sandone assures us that he has not chosen the Goodwrench No. 3. We will all find out together at the first race of the year!

Like Wills, Sandone has used the off-season to prepare and update his ride. Changes have been made as a result of lessons learned last season as Sandone anxiously prepares for the new season. And that means that Sandone’s legion of fans will have a lot to cheer for. Sandone’s following is like no other – they cheer on their driver through the good, the bad, and the ugly. And their support means a lot to their driver. “I can hear them when I am in the car,” Sandone exclaims, “and that really pumps me up!”

Rule changes made for the 2022 season have helped to level the playing field in this division. Rose explains, ” I had asked the race teams to get together and discuss anything they would like to see adjusted in the rules. I think about 17 of them got together and presented a very nice package,” Rose continues, both Ray (Carroll – Bridgeport Tech Inspector ) and I reviewed their thoughts and ideas for the division. Pretty much everything they requested seemed to be within reason and good for the division so Ray and I decided to make those changes. These guys are great to work with and they work well together. We are very proud to have this group at Bridgeport week after week.” There’s nothing better than a promoter who is willing to listen and work with his drivers!

Jeff Dirkes emerged as a top contender last season. A freak accident in one of the final races, added to Dirkes’s “To Do List” during the off-season as he has build and rebuilt the No.06 from bumper to bumper.

Dirkes will have the opportunity to climb behind the wheel of a IMCA Modified during the season opener. Dirkes’ brother-in-law will put Dirkes in his No. 1 when IMCA Modifieds make their first-ever Bridgeport appearance.

Tony Bozowski plans to join the Bridgeport Street Stock ranks this season. Bozowski has been behind the wrenches, preparing and maintaining cars for his sons to race in recent seasons. Last year, the Bozowskis joined forces with the Mowery family to field Slingshots for both Tomas Mowery and PJ Bozowski as the youngest Bozowski moved up from quarter midget competition. They also joined forces with Cobbs Mills 600 Micro Sprints to field cars for Steven Bracall and Gary Bozowski. The Slingshots and micro sprints will remain as Tony Bozowski’s primary focus however, thanks to his family, Tony will have the opportunity to climb behind the wheel once again

Bozowski was surprised by his family when they purchased a Street Stock for Tony to race this season. Danielle Bozowski saw how much driving still meant to her husband when he raced a Slingshot during the indoor shows this winter. She led the way for the purchase of a Street Stock to surprise Tony. With the help of her family and their race teams, the car was purchased and delivered without Tony’s knowledge. The No. 17G will hit the track this season.

After a successful inaugural event last season, Doug Rose and Frank Cozze will present the Second Annual Street Stock Nationals at Bridgeport this Fall. They continue to make revisions to rule packages for this event to include as many different Street Stocks from as many tracks as possible while keeping the competition fair for everyone.

The Bridgeport competitors did well in the first Nationals and the teams have been preparing for this year’s event ever since the checkered flag waved at the end of the 100-lap event last year.

This division is one of the closest-knit group of competitors on any Saturday night. While there’s plenty of close racing on the track, it is not unusual to find these competitors helping each other in the pits. Last year’s Nationals found the Bridgeport Street Stock drivers take on the invaders and a sense of “team” was formed among these weekly competitors. “That weekend changed the way we raced each other” stated Sandone. Respect was earned as teams helped each other behind the scenes. Wills agreed. ” I’ve always had respect for the other drivers and now I think it goes both ways,” the track champion explained.

Races were won by Wills, Jr., Rich Stinson, Dirkes and TJ Henry who each had multiple victories last season. Mike Hughes was a first time winner in 2021 and will join the likes of Jeramy Doerr, John Parker, Ken Moren, Mike Creamer and Gary Klimeczak when the 2022 season rolls around along with Lee Allen, Brian Ludwig and others.

Bridgeport Street Stock drivers never leave anything on the track. They may be a support division but they take their racing seriously. They set a great example, spending time with their fans after every race as well as supporting each other behind the scenes. They will add another dimension to the exciting 50th Anniversary season at the Kingdom of Speed in 2022!

Bridgeport, NJ – The excitement that abounds in weekly action at the Bridgeport Motorsports Park will be expanded to several different types of racing as the Kingdom of Speed features several special events throughout the 2022 season.

Fans won’t be kept waiting as the International Motor Contest Association (IMCA) Modifieds are featured during the season opener (presented by Precision Hydraulic & Oil) – The Kingdom of Speed weekend on Saturday, March 26th. While Modified Stock Cars are popular here in the Northeast, IMCA Modifieds have gained popularity throughout the US and are certain to be a good fit on Bridgeport’s high banks.

The team at Bridgeport bounce right back the following week with the inaugural Ron Faison Memorial, 305 Spring Nationals. The 305 Sprint Cars will be on the ticket bot Saturday and Sunday, while racing for the $1000 to win payday on the Sunday event. Saturday’s event will also host the USAC Wingless Sprint Cars, 602 Sportsman and Street Stocks. Sunday, the Modifieds return with another big payday of $5000 to win and fans being treated with a 50 lap feature event. The 4 cylinders will round out the show.

The first mid-week special event comes early with the Tuesday night April 19th “Invasion of the Posse”. This event attracted thirty 410 sprint cars last year and this year’s event promises to exceed those numbers. Promoter, Doug Rose spent the weekend of the Racing Xtravaganza talking with the Central PA racers and learned that many of the competitors have all five Bridgeport 410 events on their 2022 schedule.

On Tuesday, May 3rd, the Super DIRTcar series returns to Bridgeport for the King of the Big Blocks​ 75 lap event. Tim Fuller picked up the win in last year’s event over Stewart Friesen and Max McLaughlin. It was Fuller’s second win at Bridgeport – his first came 18 years earlier in a season opener. Bridgeport’s Alex Yankowski led all the Bridgeport competitors with a sixth- place finish.

Just two weeks later on Tuesday, May 17th the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Sprints makes its only appearance in the Garden State as Logan Schuchart and Shark Racing return to defend their win in the 2021 event. The No. 1S will begin its 2022 season in Florida this month, picking up a few runs before the WoO opener on February 25th. A record-breaking crowd was on hand to see Schuchart’s popular win last season. .

The WoO returned to Bridgeport in 2019, after a sixteen-year absence. The 2019 event was raced on the 3/8th mile track, a race dominated by PA Posse driver, Danny Dietrich. Donny Schatz mounted a late race challenge to take the lead on lap thirty-three but Dietrich came right back to capture the win.

There is always plenty of excitement when the Outlaws come to town and are challenged by the drivers of the PA Posse.

The Monster Trucks make their first of two Bridgeport appearances on Saturday and Sunday, May 28th and 29th. Always a fan favorite, the Monster Trucks will make their second appearance on September 17th and 18th.

The USAC Eastern Storm will roll into Logan Township on Wednesday, June 15th. The Mad Man, Robert Ballou will be looking to defend his win during USAC’s 2021 appearance. Ballou dominated the field to capture the win over Shane Cottle in the Hogue No.39. Chris Windom and Brady Bacon followed with home crowd favorite, Briggs Danner rounding out the top five in the Gallagher No. 5G.

On Saturday, June 18th, Bridgeport will host the first of two Saturday Night Rumble events. When the 2022 season was revealed, Rose made it known that he wanted to offer his Saturday night competitors the chance to compete for a higher purse on their regular night of racing. Frequently, these opportunities come as special mid-week events but Rose wanted his weekly racers and fans to have a “special” event on a Saturday night.

The second Saturday Night Rumble is scheduled for Saturday, August 27th.

The Fourth of July Spectacular is a new event for the 2022 season and will feature two days of racing with eight different divisions taking to the High Banks during the event. On Saturday, July 2nd the USAC East Coast Wingless Sprints will be featured along with the Bridgeport Street Stocks, 602 Crate Sportsman and Vintage Cars. Sunday’s show will feature Triple 40s – 40 lap features for the Modifieds, Super Late Models and USAC All Pro SpeedSTRS. This event will mark the first ever event of the Super Late Models on the High Banks of the Bridgeport Motorsports Park. The Modifieds will race for up to $10,000 while the SpeedSTR’s payday will feature a $4,000 payday for the winner.

The Bob Hilbert Short Track Super Series ​will heat things up on Tuesday, July 26th. Five-time Bridgeport Champion, Ryan Watt was the winner of the 2021 South Jersey Shootout, driving to his first win on the high banks over Matt Shepperd and Stewart Friesen. The fifty-lap feature event ran caution-free and was completed in just under fifteen minutes.

The All-Star Circuit of Champions will make its first ever Bridgeport appearance on Thursday August 25th. With Tony Stewart at the helm of the All Stars, fans are guaranteed a night of great winged sprint car racing with the likes of Tyler Courtney, Cory Elaison and Hunter Schuerenberg as well as many local Posse competitors who will meet the challenge of the All-Star drivers.

The three-day Danny Serrano Memorial 100 Weekend is scheduled for Friday, September 23 – Sunday, September 25. This event has become one of the highlights of the Bridgeport season with great racing paying tribute to one of the sport’s most dedicated promoters. Action will begin on Friday night with the MASS Sprints, 602 Sportsman Underdog 20 and Street Stocks with the top three Modified times locking into the Saturday qualifiers. Saturday will feature the Triple 20s for the Modifieds, MASS Sprints, Modified Dash, Precision Hydraulic & Oil 602 Sportsman Invitational as well as practice for Sunday’s Sportsman event. The Modified Match races, 100 lap Modified feature, 40 lap 602 Sportsman feature and 4 Cylinders will complete the weekend on Sunday. No one will forget Alex Yankowski’s win and spectacular finish in the inaugeral event! Domnick Buffalino was the winner of last year’s race over 2021 Track Champion, Ryan Godown and Billy Pauch, Jr.

The Second Annual Street Stock Nationals weekend is slated for Friday and Saturday, October 7th and 8th, co-promoted by Frank Cozze and Doug Rose. Friday night action will feature the Street Stocks, MASS Sprints, 4 Cylinders and Vintage Stock Cars. The 100 lap Street Stock National will take on the High Banks on Saturday along with the MASS Sprints, 4 cylinders, Vintage and the Underdog 20 event for the Modifieds.

SprintOberfest will close out the month of October at the Bridgeport Motorsports Park with a big three-day event. “We wanted to show our gratitude to those who support us and pay them well,” Rose stated. This event will feature 410 Winged Sprints, URC Sprints and USAC East Coast Wingless Sprint cars. Friday night will feature Non-winners Triple 20 feature events for each of the three divisions of sprint cars. The 410s will be featured in a twenty-five lap main event on Saturday paying $5,000 to win and $500 to take the green. URC and USAC East Coast Wingless will compete in Triple 20 qualifiers. Sunday will feature forty lap feature events for all three sprint car divisions with $15,000 going to the winner of the 410 Sprint Car feature event and pay $1,000 to take the green.

“Start money has become more and more important these days,” Rose explained. “We debated a while about whether to go bigger on the win or offer the $1,000 to start. We went with the $1,000 start money.” “This is going to be a great event. I’m really looking forward to it,” Rose added.

The High Banks Classic will close out the 50th Anniversary season at the Bridgeport Motorsports Park. USAC East Coast Sprints will be featured on Friday night along with a Underdog 20 feature for the 602 Sportsman, USAC All Pro SpeedSTRS and practice for URC, URC takes center stage on Saturday along with a 602 Sportsman Topless event, Street Stocks and Vintage Cars. A $5,000 to win fifty lap featuure for the Modifieds runs on Sunday along with a thirty lap 602 Sportsman feature, paying $2,000 to win and the 4 Cylinders will throw the checkered on the 2022 season with their main event.

Doug Rose and company have planned an incredible celebration for Bridgeport’s 50th Anniversary Season. In addition to outstanding weekly events, all of the top national sanctioning bodies will make and appearance on the High Banks as Rose brings the World of Outlaws, Super DIRTcar, USAC, the All Star Circuit of Champions, Short Track Super Series and the Monster Trucks to the Bridgeport Motorsports Park this season. The 2022 season is a race fan’s dream – no matter if you are a sprint car or stock car fan, there is something for everyone! Attractive purses and fan favorites are part of the mix.

Bridgeport, NJ – The Bridgeport Speedway heads into its 50th Anniversary with the start of the 2022 season.  It hasn’t always been clear sailing for the Logan Township speedplant but Doug and Brittany Rose have brought new life to Bridgeport with the construction of the high banked, 4/10th mile speedway and have planned an extraordinary schedule for this very special milestone!

It all started with the Paz Brothers and Leon Manchester.  Construction was completed and the first races run during the 1972 season with Manchester as promoter. 

Over the years, ownership of the Bridgeport Speedway has changed hands numerous times.  The promoter position has changed even more frequently.

In spite of the numerous transitions, the Modifieds, Sportsman and Street Stocks (Outlaw Stocks) made up the weekly race cars throughout most of the track’s history. Ed Kelly introduced the Jasper Sprints – open wheel cars that were all powered by Jasper engines.  The division proved to be successful during Kelly’s tenure.  

Jay James and his businesss partner,  Brian Ramey came to Bridgeport in 2004.  James had the racing experience as a successful Modified team owner so the track was his primary responsibility.  James introduced the Crate Divisions to Bridgeport’s Spirtsmen.  James dropped the Big Block Modifieds from his racing program for the 2010 season, substituting Crate Modifieds for the former headliners.  The plan was not successful.

Doug Hoffman was hired to promote the speedway for the 2011 season and the first thing he did was bring back the Modifieds.   Hoffman also introduced his Poker Series to Bridgeport as well as bringing the feature line’-up behind the grandstands.

Hoffman breathed new life into the Bridgeport Speedway  that year but his death left Ramey back at square one as he faced the 2012 season.

As a non-racer, Ramey formed a management team of experienced racers to run the track.  Dave Adams, Keith Hoffman and Danny Serrano brought their racing backgrounds to Bridgeport and continued the work that Hoffman had started. Later, Ramey’s son, Kolby and daughter, Haili joined the team to work with marketing and finance. 

The World of Outlaws, Super DIRTcar and USAC came back to race at the Bridgeport Speedway.  Kolby also brought in the Monster Trucks to attract a whole new audience to the track as well as off road events.

It had always been Brian Ramey’s plan to prove that Bridgeport was a viable speedway and then sell the track.  He succeeded but his plan took several more years than he had planned.

Enter Doug and Brittany Rose.  The Roses worked with Ramey and his team for the 2019 season and then took full control for the 2020 season.   

Rose wasted no time as he began construction of the new high banked, 4/10th mile track to replace the 5/8th mile track that had been Bridgeport for all those years.  The timing couldn’t have been worse when the start of the 2020 season had to be postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Then the untimely death of Danny Serrano came as another blow to Rose.  The two had worked side by side for months, working to create the vision they had for the new Bridgeport Motorsports Park.  Now Rose was left without his right-hand man but he trudged ahead and continued the work that they had started.

Finally, the 2020 opener came and the racing was outstanding!  The high banks produced three and four wide racing in all divisions.   Slide jobs and crossover moves became the new normal.  Racing was exciting again!

Two weekends of racing – one on the 4/10th and one on the quarter mile -, were dedicated to Serrano’s memory.  The support of the competitors and fans was overwhelming.

The 2021 season produced more of the same with special shows like the World of Outlaws, USAC Wingless Sprints and Midgets and the SuperDirt Car Series.  Rose and Frank Cozze partnered to bring the first Street Stock Nationals to the Bridgeport Motorsports Park.  

” I could not be more proud of Doug and his family and their commitment to the legacy of Bridgeport Speedway,” Brian Ramey stated.  “Many lives were changed, and several literally ended in the struggle that has made Our speedway what it is today. I do not know a better Ambassador than Doug to carry the torch and fully make it what we have always known it to be. We (ALL) Are Bridgeport, and we are proud.”

 “It’s awesome to see Doug adding to the legacy of the track,” added Kolby Ramey.  “You have a track that had an uncertain future not too long ago, was then given a new life, and was then entrusted to Doug and he has really worked to take it to the next level.  I’m super pumped for him and all of the Bridgeport speedway fans, race teams, and employees.”

And the excitement is building for the 2022 season!  The Bridgeport Motorsports Park has everyone talking!!  Many competitors and fans alike have marked their calendars for the exciting events on this year’s schedule.

More than twenty events will feature sprint cars this season – 410s, 360s, 305s, winged and wingless.  Bridgeport will welcome the All Star Circuit of Champions for their first appearance in New Jersey!   The IMCA Modifieds will make their first Bridgeport appearance this season.  

With Bridgeport’s events televised on FloRacing, the track has moved onto the national stage with their weekly racing program.

Oaks, PA – Race fans headed to the Philadelphia Expo Center this past weekend for Motorsports – anxious for the opportunity to talk racing and mingle among the racing crowd with nearly two months remaining of the area’s off season.

For two days, Doug and Brittany Rose welcomed fans and competitors to the Bridgeport Motorsports – The Kingdom of Speed – display where the excitement for the 2022 season was ever present. The 2022 schedules for both the High Banks and the Spirit quarter mile were a hot commodity throughout the weekend.

You could look at the Bridgeport display and follow the storyline of the last two seasons and see what the Roses have brought to the racing industry.

Front and center was the beautiful new Danny’s Pizza Pizzazz No. 51 that will return to Bridgeport this season with Richie Pratt Jr. behind the wheel. Once again, those blue No.51 shirts will be seen throughout the grandstand. This team certainly made a lot of Bridgeport fans happy with the news of their return.

The World of Outlaws were represented by Logan Schuchart and his popular Shark Racing No.1S. Schuchart was on hand to greet fans and sign autographs on Saturday. Schuchart is looking forward to returning to Bridgeport this season to defend his 2021 victory on the high banks. “Any time you win at a track, it gives you confidence,” Schuchart explained. “We watched videos and you could see there was good racing.” Schuchart is hoping to build on his success last season. “We had speed but we had some problems that have hopefully been resolved.”

The Cassidy Painting 600 Micro Sprint driven by Chris Fenimore was the third car displayed over the weekend. Fenimore is a regular competitor on the Spirit quarter mile. Fenimore’s No. 92 is sponsored Cassidy Painting of New Castle, DE. Cassidy does commercial and industrial painting, fireproofing, sandblasting and so much more. Cassidy came onboard last season to sponsor the Danny Serrano Skyscraper weekend.

​The No. 51 represented the successful Saturday night program that the Rose’s have created at Bridgeport over the last two seasons. The No. 1S of Logan Schuchart represented the successful special shows that have thrilled the Bridgeport fans. Certainly, the World of Outlaw shows have seen record breaking attendance. The Fenimore No. 92 is an example of the growing quarter mile program on the Spirit quarter mile – all part of the Bridgeport Motorsports Park.

And, the Bridgeport influence wasn’t just felt at the Bridgeport display. Fifteen Bridgeport competitors were displayed – some helping to support other vendor displays throughout the show including Dominick Buffalino and the Hyneman No. 126, the Belmont No. 14 of Joe Toth, Billy Pauch and his No. 1, Billy Pauch, Jr. and the Rick Holsten No. 96, Joe Toth’s No. 9, Alex Yankowski and his No. 84Y, Brett Ballard’s No. 5B, David Crossman’s No. 80, Davy Sammons No, 79, Ryan Watt’s No. 14w, Dave Adams’s No. 37 to be piloted by Brian Papiez, Eric Kormann’s and the Hoffman No. 10 and Kormann’s No,. 36. Sammy Martz Jr.’s No. 24 and of course, the Danny’s Pizza Pizazz Mo. 51.

For the entire sixteen hours of the two-day show, Doug and Brittany Rose answered questions and listened to the fans and competitors who expressed their gratitude for the work that they have done and the racing that they have brought to the Bridgeport Motorsports Park. Racers were taking advantage of the Motorsports weekends to secure their parking spots, season passes or just get their questions answered about the upcoming season. Many times, racing teams filled the aisles as they visited with their fellow competitors and fans.

“It was a great show for us,” Doug Rose stated. “Our new Bob Hilbert designed shirts were a big hit and we sold a lot of shirts. These shirts were the first to carry our 50th Anniversary Logo.”

A lot was accomplished during this two-day event as we move one weekend closer to the 2022 racing season.

Bridgeport, NJ – Since the first green flag waved on the new Bridgeport Motorsports Park two seasons ago, area race fans have experienced a new level of competition that had fans on the edge of their seats from the start to the finish. The high banks and the wide track allowed slide jobs, slingshot moves and crossovers in all divisions in all types of race cars from open wheeled to full fender racers. That excitement is building as we move closer to the start of the 2022 season with announcement of what the new year has in store for the Foley Cat Modifieds.

Nine races will pay the race winner at minimum of $5,000 during the 2022 season. It will all get started with the Kingdom of Speed Weekend and the Doug Hoffman Memorial – sixty laps for $6,000 to win and $600 to take the green. One week later, the Modifieds will race in a fifty lap main during the Ron Faison Memorial Weekend with $5,000 on the line. The King of the Big Blocks Super DIRTcar race follows in May ($7,500), a Rumble in the Kingdom show in June and again in August ($6,000) The Triple 40 show in July will feature the Modifieds($10,000) , Super Late Models and USAC All Pro SpeedSTRS. The Short Track Super Series comes to Bridgeport in late July ($6,000). The Danny Serrano Weekend returns in late September ($10,000) and then the season finale in November with the fifty lap High Banks Classic ($5,000).

In addition to the special events, Bridgeport offers a strong weekly purse and point fund that can be accessed on the track’s website under Competition Info.

“There is a lot of money on the line at Bridgeport this season,” Doug Rose asserted. “We have come a long way in just two seasons and I am very proud to give back to all of the drivers in all of the divisions!”
Bridgeport didn’t forget the Families either, the Modifiesds have 5 Saturday Nights off to get some needed family time and to help keep their equipment at top level – 4/2, 4/30, 5/28, 7/2, 7/23.

Rose’s efforts during the last two seasons have not gone unnoticed. “Doug has put together a schedule that has caught my eye,” says Billy Pauch, Jr. “He has gone above and beyond to give back to the racers. It’s a great time to be a modified driver!” Pauch raced several events last season in the Joel’s Technologies No .19 and contended for the win in the season finale. Look for Pauch and Rick Holsten to make the move to Bridgeport for the 2022 season.

Jimmy Blewett has put Bridgeport on his schedule for the new season. “To see what Doug and his family have done with the Bridgeport Speedway is great! They brought excitement back to Saturday night racing,” Blewett expresses. “And with that, they are also giving back to the racers – seeing the schedule, the payouts and the fire-suits for their champions just adds to the excitement! Doug understands what it takes and what we all sacrifice to get to the races week in and week out. It’s nice to have someone who gets that part of racing,” Blewett adds.

Danny Bouc is ready to call Bridgeport his Saturday night home this season. “I’m really excited for Bridgeport this year,” Bouc states. “After burning myself out last year, it’s really refreshing to see a solid Saturday night pay at a local race track and not having to race as much during the workweek – I’m all for it! Those $6,000 to win Saturday night shows mid-season are really nice to see.” Bouc will be behind of the wheel of the Bouc No. 32 on Saturday nights

Jordan Watson will add his name to the roster with the family-owned No. 18. “We’re looking forward to racing weekly at Bridgeport against a stout field of cars at one of the best facilities in the Northeast” Watson stated. Watson’s brother, Joseph and the Blue Hen Racing Team are Bridgeport regulars, picking up a win last season.

Craig Whitmoyer will be making the trip south to become part of Bridgeport’s starting line-up on Saturday nights this season. “We already planned to come to Bridgeport every week before they even announced those races (9 bonus features),” Whitmoyer explained. “We ran some races at the end of the year and decided to try something different.”

Mike Barone reappeared at the end of the 2021 season after stepping away from racing for nearly five years. He liked what he saw and will return to action with a new Bicknell with Lombardo power under the hood. “A lot of things have changed since I last raced,” Barone explained. “One thing I know for sure is this schedule is going to produce a stacked field of talented drivers and exciting racing. I’m looking forward to battling it out with everyone and having my brother alongside of me.” Mike’s brother, Donald will also be returning to Saturday night action.

Donald Barone raced at Bridgeport from 1998 – 2008. He stopped racing when he married and started his family. He brought his eleven year old daughter to a race last year and she enjoyed the races. “My old crew chief approached me last year to talk about getting back into racing,” Barone related. “I missed competing and I missed the people.” Like Mike, Donald will race a Bicknell chassis with Lombardo power. The brothers haven’t decided who will race the family number – No. 267. It was their dad’s number when he raced snowmobiles and both Donald and Mike have used the number in the past. “It’s going to be fun. I’m really looking forward to it,” Donald Barone added.

Davey Sammons will be behind the wheel of his own Modified this season – the No. 79 to be revealed at Motorsports Race Car and Trade Show this coming weekend. “Bridgeport is doing great things for local Modified racing and we want to support them as much as possible. Last season, we ran all of the special shows and had some good runs,” Sammons continues. “This year, we look forward to running all the big races plus weekly events in hopes to pick up our first victory in a Modified at Bridgeport!”

Delaware’s Sean Metz will make Bridgeport his Saturday night home this season. “Doug has done an awesome job on the schedule for Bridgeport this year,” Metz stated. “We are looking forward to the new challenge of moving up to the Modifieds but we still plan to run our family-owned crate car as much as we can.”

And if you heard the rumor – it’s true. “Last Lap”, Richie Pratt, Jr. will make his return to Bridgeport this season.

Oaks, PA – After a one-year absence, the Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports Race Car and Trade show returns to the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA Friday January 21 (2 – 9 pm) and Saturday January 22 (11 am – 7 pm).

Bridgeport Motorsports Park has a tremendous schedule in place for the 2022 race season and you can get yours at their display located at booth no. 220-226 / 321-327. They will have 3 hot rods on display, Chris Fenimore’s Hyper Racing 600 Sprint sponsored by Cassidy Painting, along with a brand-new Danny’s Pizza Pizzazz #51, debuting their new driver for the 2022 season.

“Bridgeport’s 2022 schedule is packed full of 35 Sprint Car races, so it’s only appropriate to have a Sprint Car in the booth” stated owner Doug Rose. “We want to make an impact and I think with the car we have in place will make a strong statement of the caliber of racing we will have throughout the 2022 season. Having a Sprint Car of this magnitude along with Danny Sommeling debuting his new team for the 2022 season at our booth and Chris’s always beautiful 600 sprint. I feel we will make a strong statement at this show of what our fans are in store for this coming 2022 season.”

The Belmont Garage #14 driven by Joe Toth and the infamous Keystone Racing 126 owned by Glenn and Bonita Hyneman driven by Dominic Buffalino will be at the STSS booth, Rick Holsten’s 96 with chauffeur Billy Pauch Jr will be displayed at the Georgetown Speedway booth. American racer will have 2 Bridgeport Drivers in their booth with the 84 of Alex Yankowski and the #9 of Joe Toth. Dave Adams Motorsports will be making his return to the show with a beautiful designed and painted Sportsman for Brian Papiez. Eric Korman will have his Modified on display at the Erk Steering booth and Wiz Motorsports will have a booth full of racecars including the #5 of Brett Ballard and the #80 of David Crossman.

Bridgeport Motorsports Park opens with a practice session on the big track March 12th and The ¼ mile opens the following weekend March 18th with a World Series of Slingshot weekend along with 600 and 270 practice.

The Doug Hoffman Memorial returns in full force to kick off the season on March 27th with the modifieds going 60 laps, for $6000 to win and $600 to start.

Bridgeport, NJ – Stock car racing has always been the headliner of New Jersey’s Bridgeport Speedway. In addition to Modifieds, 602 Crate Sportsman and Street Stocks, the Bridgeport Motorsports Park will feature more than twenty sprint car events throughout the 2022 season.

Doug and Brittany Rose have put together an action-packed schedule for the 2022 season and sprint cars – both winged and wingless will play a major role.

“From the time we were building the track, we knew we wanted Sprint Car races,” Doug Rose explains. “Our Northeast fans love their Modifieds and they love their Sprint Cars but we realize that in order to produce Sprint Car races, you have to have a track that is conducive to Sprint Car racing.” It didn’t take long for Rose to realize that his newly configured high banked four-tenth mile track would produce great racing.

The 2021 season saw Rose move ahead with his plan. “We got more aggressive with the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series (MASS) and put together our “Invasion of the Posse” event. Our World of Outlaws show was basically a sell-out, the PA Posse event went very well and MASS put on great events week after week,” Rose continued. As the 2021 season came to an end, Rose approached Eddy and Erika Wagner of MASS, Ryan Stillwaggon of the United Racing Club (URC) and Curt Michael of USAC East Coast Wingless Sprints about promoting more events in 2022. “They were all great to work with. They made it easy for me to blend together a great schedule and then we landed our All-Star Circuit of Champions event,” Rose explained. “And that date fit perfectly in our schedule!”

“We are really excited to see what 2022 brings,” exclaimed MASS’s Eddy Wagner. “Doug and Brittany have been a pleasure to work with. They want Sprint Cars at Bridgeport and we really want to be there so it works out perfectly! Bridgeport is the central hub of all of our race teams so it’s good to call Bridgeport our home track.” Wagner continued, “We are trying some two day races there this season to really get the excitement going starting with the Ron Faison 305 Spring Nationals in April and we are really looking forward to that event.”

MASS made eight appearances on the High Banks last season with 2021 MASS Champion, Kevin Nagy dominating the win column with six wins with Wagner and Dave Grube each earning a single victory. In addition to seasoned veterans like Tim Tanner, Rick Stief, Dave Brown and others, there are several up-and-coming young drivers like Zach Bealer, Cody West and Buddy Schweibinz who brought another element of excitement to the 305 events.

In addition to the Ron Faison Spring Nationals in April, MASS will also be a part of the Street Stock National weekend in October. “I had an idea in my head of what I wanted to do,” Rose explains, “but October is so full of big Modified events that I had to start thinking about a Sprint Car dominant show. “I scoured the schedules trying to find the perfect date and not step on anyone else’s show.” After a few hiccups along the way and conversations with several other promoters, Rose reached out to URC and USAC EC and came up with a fourth 410 Sprint Car event – Sprintoberfest – a three day weekend of sprint car racing at the end of October that will feature 410 winged sprint cars as well as 360 winged and wingless sprints.” “This weekend is going to be huge,” Rose exclaims with pride! There are some teams that are exploring the possibility of competing in all three classes! “Saturday’s 410 race will pay $5,000 to win while Sunday’s race will pay $15,000 to win, $1,000 to start.)

URC will have four shows at the Bridgeport Motorsports Park during the 2022 season. URC president, Ryan Stillwaggon says, “Bridgeport has always been a favorite stop for URC over the years but the new high banks have teams and fans circling the dates!” “It’s always an exciting show and URC is excited for all four appearances on the high banks.”

The wingless warriors of the USAC East Coast Sprints will compete in four events on the 2022 Bridgeport schedule. “The new Bridgeport Motorsports Park provides fantastic non-wing sprint action, says USAC EC’s Curt Michael. “Our series racers love racing on the high banks. We are excited to have some of our biggest races at Bridgeport.”

2021 USAC EC action was dominated by 2021 Champion, Alex Bright and 2021 Rookie of the Year, Briggs Danner but the competition will be tough when the green flag waves on the new season as past champion, Steven Drevicki, Christopher Allen, Jr. and Ed Aiken take on the young bloods like Tommy Kunsman, Damon Paul and Colin White.

URC opens their season on March 26th with additional date in July, October and November. MASS will open their season on March 25th and then return for the Ron Faison Spring Nationals on April 2nd and 3rd. MASS will return for nine Saturday night races before the season culminates with a two-day event in October when MASS appears with the Street Stock Nationals. USAC EC will be part of the Spring Nationals on April 2nd and will appear three more times, including the November 5th season finale.

The 410 Sprint Cars first appear in the Invasion of the Posse on Tuesday, April 19th. ($7,500 to win, $700 to start) Pennsylvania’s finest will return to compete against the World of Outlaws on Tuesday, May 17th and again on Thursday, August 25th with the first Bridgeport appearance of the All-Star Circuit Champions. ($12,000 to win) USAC’s Eastern Storm returns to the High Banks on Wednesday, June 15th.

Bridgeport, NJ – The Street Stock Division at Bridgeport Motorsports Park puts on some of the greatest racing on the High Banks each week and in 2022 they will find some new opportunities available to them. “Danny (Serrano) and I had talked about something he wanted to do prior to him passing. He said he always liked when he would go to tracks and see a Street Stock painted in a “Retro NASCAR” scheme,” explains Doug Rose. In 2022, Bridgeport will offer a weekly $50 bonus to each of the top 2 finishers in the feature event that have their race car graphics in a “Retro NASCAR” theme. “The original plan was to give the winner a $100 bonus if his car had the retro look, but I wanted to be sure that these guys that all take the time to do this get the opportunity for the bonus, plus whats better than one team? Lets have two teams get the bonus,” says Rose. The teams will need to contact Doug Rose and register their retro scheme, they don’t want seven Dale Earnhardt #3 Goodwrench cars, a nice split of schemes is preferred. The racing in the Street Stock division is already insane, but seeing the Wrangler #3, the Coors #9, and the Skoal Bandit #33 battling it out will be even more entertaining for race fans to see.

That’s not the only new perk for the Street Stocks in 2022, they will also be a part of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car event. They will be competing for a healthy $500 to win and $100 to start purse. Rose mentions, “We met with several of the teams at our last event to get their thoughts on running this mid-week event and the response was outstanding.”

Frank Cozze and Rose also plan to promote the second annual $10,000 to win, 100 lap, Street Stock Nationals, October 7 and 8. “The inaugural event in 2021 went very well. We learned a lot from the initial event and have some great plans to make this year’s show even more spectacular. There are some modifications we saw that could be implemented to the rules that would help everyone be on a level field and allow more teams to have cars that fit our rules package even better,” explains Cozze.

“From the start, I have been impressed with the racing that our Street Stocks put on and in 2022 they will start reaping more of the rewards they deserve. On top of that all of their events will be Live Streamed on Flo giving them National Recognition for all of their hard work they put in every week.” Rose adds.

Bridgeport, NJ – Bridgeport Motorsports Park Embraces Flo Racing’s Live Stream Coverage 

Live streaming has become a major part of the promotion of dirt track motorsports in recent years.  FloRacing, and its parent company, FloSports, leads the industry in broadcasting live stream auto racing events.  Bridgeport Motorsport Park made the decision to partner with FloRacing early on – recognizing the direction that the Motorsports Industry was taking.   

“Our weekly viewership numbers are outstanding,” Bridgeport’s Doug Rose exclaims.  And Rose should know.  He replaced the “big ole 5/8th” mile track with a 4/10 mile, high banked facility that has seen outstanding racing across the board –  in every division, in every type of race car that has taken to the surface.  Drivers continue to migrate to Bridgeport after seeing what Rose and his staff are doing at Bridgeport with incredible racing, a professional atmosphere and great purse structures.  The ability to pass at will is the end result of a wide racing surface that often eliminates the potential for many crashes.  Bridgeport’s Foley Cat Modifieds ran five non-stop, caution free feature events during the 2021 season.   

The FloRacing broadcasts allows sponsors to watch and to be seen on a higher level than ever before.  It also allows for more friends and family to be able to watch their drivers perform on a national stage. 

“Flo has helped us bring on several new marketing partners for 2022,” Brittany Rose explains.  “Before nightly sponsors or divisional sponsors exposure was primarily heard solely at the track during the event. Now these same sponsors are heard nationally not only live during the event, but also throughout the week during race replays. The value and exposure has multiplied in numbers no one could have imagined and will continue to grow as our partnership does.”

Alex Yankowski , the teenage sensation known as “Kid Rocket”, has finished second in championship points at Bridgeport for the last two seasons.  “FloRacing has been great exposure for the Big Block Modifieds on a national level.  It’s been cool to see people who can’t go to the races still be able to watch by tuning in,” Yankowski relates. 

Kevin Bates, himself a successful Modified racer, is the crew chief on Yankowski’s No. 84Y.  Bates has been charged with grooming the young driver for bigger and better things in the future.   Bates is all about putting his driver in the spotlight in order to find the best opportunities for him.  “It really helps the sport and gives recognition to the tracks, drivers and northeast dirt track Modifieds that we wouldn’t have and didn’t have before,” Bates proclaims.  “I have heard from a lot of people that now know us nationwide that didn’t know what a Northeast Dirt Modified was before these races were broadcast,” Bates adds.  “It’s absolutely big with seeking corporate sponsorships and that’s what we need more of.” 

Ryan Krachun is another young driver that calls “The Kingdom of Speed” home on Saturday nights during the racing season.  Krachun runs his family owned race team with the help of his parents, Trish and Mike.  While Ryan and Mike are busy working on the No. 29s, Trish is busy promoting their apparel sales.  

Krachun has seen first-hand how the FloRacing exposure has benefited his racing team.  “It is definitely a plus when you can bring a large audience to sponsors, as well as having family that can’t make it to the track weekly still be able to watch the races and cheer us on from home.”  Krachun continued, “I get messages from people from all over the country who watch on Flo who say that they love the racing at Bridgeport and they buy our apparel.  We’ve shipped  items across the country.”  Krachun adds, “I also think that it showcases Bridgeport as the best dirt track around!  I have heard that from numerous people that haven’t had the chance to make it to the track as of yet.” 

With shows like the All Star Circuit of Champions or the Amsoil National USAC Wingless Sprint Cars on the schedule, you hear those competitors talking about watching the races on television in preparation for their appearances.   

Briggs Danner is a young driver from Allentown, PA.  Danner moved into a full time wingless sprint car ride this season with the USAC East Coast Non-wing sprints.  Danner has a wide variety of racing experience – on dirt as well as on pavement.  He has been a competitor in Lenny Sammons Indoor Racing Productions for the past several seasons.  Danner was approached by Ryan Flores during a 2020 event.  Flores, who hails from New Jersey, works full time on a NASCAR Cup car but comes north to race during the winter months when racing moves indoors.  Flores knew all about Danner’s ability because he and his crew watch the Flo broadcasts from the Cup car garage.   

“It was cool to hear Matt Williamson say, “Everyone watches Bridgeport,“ during a Flo interview,” Rose interjects.  “That kind of opened my eyes that all the modified drivers are tuning into Flo to watch the incredible racing our racers and track surface produces.” 

Racing at the Bridgeport Motorsports Park allows competitors in all divisions to race in front of a national audience on one of the region’s, if not the nation’s most popular race tracks.  There’s no need to go anywhere else! 

“We are proud to give our racers, sponsors and everyone who supports us a National stage to perform on,” Rose adds.
