OSMUN DOUBLES UP! MORRISON BREAKS THROUGH AS BRIDGEPORT DELIVERS ANOTHER THRILLING NIGHT OF RACING
SWEDESBORO, N.J. β The action never let up Saturday night at Bridgeport Motorsports Park as Billy Osmun III raced to his second Dannyβs Pizza Pizzazz Modified victory of the season while Troy Betts continued his Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series dominance, rookie Brayden Morrison celebrated his first career Sportsman victory, and Jonathan Swanson added yet another win to his championship-caliber season.
Osmunβs dramatic late-race charge highlighted another spectacular night on the High Banks, where slide jobs, last-lap passes, and breakthrough victories kept the fans on their feet.
The Dannyβs Pizza Pizzazz Modified feature opened with Richie Pratt Jr. and Stan Frankenfield Jr. bringing the field to green, with Pratt powering into the early lead. Pratt paced the opening circuits while Frankenfield, Osmun, Ryan Krachun and Johnny Bangs settled into the top five. Early caution flags eliminated Kevin Hirthler and Cale Ross from contention before the race settled into an intense battle for the lead.
At the halfway point, Pratt remained in command, but Osmun had closed the gap. What followed was a thrilling exchange of slide jobs as the two drivers traded the lead corner after corner. Osmun finally completed the winning move on Lap 18, but the drama wasnβt over.
A final caution on Lap 23 erased Osmunβs advantage and set up a dash to the finish. Osmun executed a flawless restart and held off the field while Ryan Godown (started 16th) charged from behind in the closing laps. Krachun slipped past Pratt for third before the checkered flag as Osmun secured his second victory of the season.
Godown crossed the stripe second, followed by Krachun, Pratt and Brian Papiez. Stan Frankenfield Jr., Sammy Martz Jr., H.J. Bunting, Neal Williams and Dominick Buffalino completed the top ten.
After finally earning his first career Modified victory earlier this season, Osmun admitted it was a relief to back it up so quickly.
βThey always say the first win is the hardest,β Osmun said. βIβm glad I was able to prove it right after taking so long to win my first!β
The DCB Plumbing & Heating Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series feature belonged to Troy Betts from the drop of the green flag.
Starting alongside Rick Lafferty, Betts quickly seized control and never looked back, leading every lap of the 25-lap feature.
βI never saw him after that,β Betts said of his early duel with Lafferty.
While Betts drove away, Dave Brown spent the entire race trying to wrestle second from Lafferty. Brown finally completed the pass coming to the checkered flag. Tim Iulg charged late to steal fourth from Shelby Kelly in the closing laps.
Betts earned his third MASS victory of the season, extending his lead in the championship standings. Brown finished second over Lafferty, Iulg and Kelly. Eddie Wagner, Adam Carberry, Robbie Stillwaggon, Tyler Grau and Aidan Borden completed the top ten.
The Demers Heating & Cooling Sportsman feature produced one of the nightβs biggest storylines as rookie Brayden Morrison raced to his first career victory.
Tom Carpenter led the opening lap before Morrison wasted little time making his move. Morrison challenged for the lead immediately and completed the winning pass at the end of Lap 2.
As the laps wound down, Jesse Hirthler methodically worked his way forward from his 11th place starting position after Mike Hughes Jr. held second for much of the event. Hirthler claimed the runner-up position late, but Morrison never flinched, driving away to an emotional first career victory.
Hirthler finished second over Hughes, Matt Ellery and Pete Serra. Ryan Simmons, Matt Peck, Aiden Spencer, Ronnie Solomon and Duncan Molesworth rounded out the top ten.
The rookie credited his decision to consistently use the cushion around the top of the speedway.
βEvery restart was a big decision, but I chose the top lane every time because thatβs where the car was the best,β Morrison explained.
The victory was especially meaningful for Morrisonβs family-owned team, sponsored by Bear Tire & Auto of Hainesport, N.J.
Another rookie also enjoyed a breakthrough moment in the Sportsman Non-Qualifier feature.
Randy Rommell made a dramatic pass around Dave Damiano in the final turns of the 15-lap event to score the victory. Drew Ziegler finished second, Damiano settled for third, while Brandon Shipleyβwho led the opening 12 lapsβfinished fourth after late-race heartbreak.
The Victory Fuel Wingless Sprint Cars completed all 20 laps without a caution as Jonathan Swanson continued his dominant season.
Nathan Smith led the opening four laps before Swanson surged to the front on Lap 5 and never relinquished the lead. Swanson captured his fourth victory of the season over Smith, Stan Ploski III, Wayne Scott and David Swanson.
In Straight Up Construction Four Cylinder competition, Dale Mull captured his second victory of the season, finishing ahead of Dan Stein and Joe Garey Sr.
Bridgeport Motorsports Park continues to showcase some of the most competitive racing in the Northeast, and Saturday nightβs program proved once again why the High Banks have earned their reputation as the Kingdom of Speed. From veteran stars adding to their win totals to rookies celebrating career-first victories, the fans were treated to another unforgettable night of side-by-side racing and dramatic finishes.
Next Event, Saturday August 1, 2026. Cannonball Storage Black Tie Event featuring Modifieds, Sportsman, Wingless Sprint Cars, Street Stocks, & 4 Cylinder Stock Cars. Pits open at 4:00, Grandstands at 5:00, & Cars on track at 6:00.

SWEDESBORO, N.J. β The High Banks of Bridgeport Motorsports Park delivered another unforgettable night of side-by-side racing, dramatic finishes, and emotional Victory Lane celebrations as defending track champion Dillon Steuer pulled off one of the most exciting last-lap passes of the season to capture his first Dannyβs Pizza Pizzazz Modified victory of 2026.
Matt Ellery celebrated his second Demers Heating & Cooling Sportsman triumph of the year with an emotional tribute to the late Stephane LaFrance, while Hunter Ploski won the Sportsman second Feature, Richie Page claimed Straight Up Construction Street Stock honors, and Wayne Scott continued his winning ways in the Victory Fuel Wingless Sprints.
For 29 laps and three quarters, it appeared Ryan Krachun was destined to park the Dannyβs Pizza Pizzazz No. 51 in Victory Lane. Krachun took the white flag with a comfortable advantage and looked poised to earn a hard-fought victory.
But defending champion Dillon Steuer had one final charge left.
Closing rapidly over the final lap, Steuer dove to Krachunβs inside entering the final corner. The two drivers raced side-by-side through Turns Three and Four before drag racing to the checkered flag, with Steuer edging ahead in a breathtaking photo-worthy finish to steal the victory.
After enduring several frustrating weeksβincluding a violent frontstretch accident that forced the No. 6D team to regroup during a two-week breakβthe victory was especially rewarding.
βIt was great to get a win after coming back from a couple of bad weeks,β Steuer said following the dramatic triumph.
Current point leader Ryan Godown completed the podium in third from his twelfth place starting position, followed by Brian Papiez and Dominick Buffalino. Neal Williams finished sixth ahead of Cale Ross, Kevin Hirthler, Sammy Martz Jr., and Billy Osmun to round out the top ten.
The Demers Heating & Cooling Sportsman feature provided both exciting racing and heartfelt emotion.
Rookie Brayden Morrison appeared headed toward his first career victory after leading much of the event, but heavy lapped traffic tightened the field as Matt Ellery methodically worked his way forward from seventh starting position.
The race changed dramatically when Morrison became involved with a lapped car, bringing out a caution that handed the lead to Ellery for the restart. Ellery capitalized on the opportunity and never looked back, racing to his second Bridgeport victory of the season.
Victory Lane quickly turned emotional as Ellery dedicated the win to Stephane LaFrance, the respected mastermind behind Trick Parts, whose sudden passing last week stunned the racing community.
Christopher Buffalino continued his impressive rookie campaign with another runner-up finish, followed by Ethan Bill in third. Jesse Hirthler crossed the line fourth with Matt Peck completing the top five. Tim Borror, Stephen Kemery, PJ Bozowski, Wayne Weaver, and Pete Serra rounded out the top ten.
Hunter Ploski raced to victory in the Sportsman second feature over Brian Rogers, Dylan Morris, Tom Carpenter, and Johnny Bangs.
Nick Sandone appeared to have the Straight Up Construction Street Stock feature under control before mechanical heartbreak struck. While leading the event, the rear end failed on the NS3 machine, ending what had been a dominant performance.
Richie Page seized the opportunity and drove to his second victory of the season ahead of Gary Klimeczak, Darren Cox, Scott Freed, and Spider Ensinger III.
Wayne Scott added another chapter to his impressive 2026 season by collecting yet another Victory Fuel Wingless Sprint feature win.
JR Fulper returned to competition after missing several races and rewarded the hard work of his crew with a runner-up finish. The result was especially impressive after the team rebuilt the No. 67 following a spectacular crash in Turns Three and Four earlier this season.
Jonathan Swanson finished third, followed by Stan Ploski III and Nate Smith to complete the top five.
Another exciting Saturday night of racing is now in the books as Bridgeport Motorsports Park continues to produce some of the closest, most competitive racing in the Northeast, with fans once again treated to edge-of-your-seat action from the opening green flag to the final checkered.
Be sure to visit Bridgeport next Saturday not for the Hollywood Movie Premiere and Mini Concert July 18. All details can be found on the Bridgeport website and Facebook page.

SWEDESBORO, N.J. β The high-banked quarter mile at Bridgeport Motorsports Park delivered another action-packed night of racing as first-time visitor Tommy Carberry made an unforgettable debut, leading all 30 laps to capture the DCBβs Plumbing & Heating Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series (MASS) feature victory.
The Hilltown, Pennsylvania driver looked right at home on Bridgeportβs lightning-fast quarter mile, fending off constant pressure from veteran challengers Rick Lafferty and Eddie Wagner throughout the non-stop 30-lap main event.
βI really enjoyed it more than I thought I would,β Carberry said in Victory Lane. βEveryone gave plenty of room to race.β
While Carberry celebrated his first Bridgeport triumph, the nightβs support divisions featured plenty of familiar faces in Victory Lane. Alex Swift continued his incredible season by collecting his ninth A.C. Racing Products Winged 270cc Micro Sprint victory, Hannah Kormann earned her second Speedway Entertainment All-Star Slingshot win of the season, Khloe Dennis picked up her fifth Junior Slingshot triumph, and Jonathan Laureigh stayed red hot with his third consecutive Smith Fabrication Stage-1 Modified victory.
Carberry was flawless from the drop of the green flag, setting the pace while Lafferty and Wagner remained within striking distance for all 30 laps. The race for fourth became the nightβs hottest battle after Tim Iulg, who had been running solidly in fourth, was forced to retire with mechanical issues.
That opened the door for Robbie Stillwaggon, Ryan Stillwaggon and Dave Brown to wage an intense battle to the finish. Robbie Stillwaggon narrowly held off Brown for fourth while Carberry crossed the stripe first ahead of Lafferty and Wagner.
Robbie Stillwaggon finished fourth with Brown completing the top five.
Dan Leaper, making an impressive return after his hard crash during Joe Kay Memorial Weekend, drove to a strong sixth-place finish. Defending MASS Champion Troy Betts finished seventh, followed by D.J. Tanner Jr., Tyler Grau and Ryan Stillwaggon.
Swift Scores Win Number Nine. Dylan Pennepacker appeared poised to earn his first victory after leading the opening 14 laps of the Winged 270cc Micro Sprint feature from the pole position.
But fortunes changed quickly when mechanical trouble sidelined Pennepacker, handing the lead to Alex Swift. Starting sixth, Swift methodically worked through the field before inheriting the top spot and never looked back, racing to his remarkable ninth victory of the season.
Dylan Pence finished second ahead of Josh Anderson, Billy Gray and Dylan DeVault. Anthony Kane, Joe Dopke, Tommy Ratchford, George Nardelli and Ian John rounded out the top ten.
Current Speedway Entertainment All-Star Slingshot point leader Hannah Kormann has consistently shown race-winning speed throughout the season, only to be hampered by difficult starting positions.
On Saturday night, everything finally came together.
After drawing a favorable starting spot, Kormann dominated all 20 laps for her second victory of the season.
βI was finally able to draw better, and once I took the lead, I never looked back,β Kormann said following her convincing victory.
Behind her, Carl Taylor held off challenges from Matthew Lashley early before Charlie Moore mounted a late-race charge. Taylor secured second with Moore third, Nick Tomlinson fourth and Emily Suhr recording her first career top-five finish. Lashley settled for sixth, followed by Joey Torchia, Axel LeRoy, Mike Walsh and Tyler OβNeil.
Dennis Delivers Again. Kenna Evans led the opening three circuits of the Junior Slingshot feature before Khloe Dennis charged forward from sixth starting position to take command.
Dennis drove away for her fifth victory of the season while David Morrison and Kylin Evans both slipped past Kenna Evans on the final lap to claim second and third. Kenna Evans finished fourth with Danny Kurtz completing the top five.
Keegan Scott, Danica Weinberger, Lucas Samanns, Danica Banks and Pierce Weinberger finished sixth through tenth.
Jonathan Laureigh continued his recent domination of the Smith Fabrication Stage-1 Modified division by leading every lap of the 25-lap feature to earn his third consecutive victory.
Laureigh crossed the finish line with an impressive three-second advantage over Jon Keller. Carter Mullins finished third ahead of Brandon Mullins and Ken Matthews.
