THE HIRTHLER’s RULE THE KINGDOM SATURDAY NIGHT!

The 2025 season marked a change of venue for father and son drivers, Kevin and Jesse Hirthler.  On Saturday night, both Kevin and Jesse Hirthler got to share a relatively rare event with their family and friends as they both won their first features at the Bridgeport Motorsports Park.

Saturday’s races were sponsored by SY Murray Performance and it is only fitting that it is a Murray powerplant under the hood of the No. 117.

Kevin Hirthler’s name can be found in the record books of many different area tracks, including Bridgeport’s old 5/8th mile surface.  Saturday night’s win marked his first win on the High Banks of the Bridgeport Motorsports Park.  It has been a few seasons since Hirthler picked up a win in his Pioneer Pole Building sponsored Modified.  “This track can beat up an old guy like me,” Hirthler exclaimed following his win.  “This track is tough – you have to run as fast as you can.”  Hirthler led a race earlier this season only to be passed on a late race restart but he learned those lessons well.

Hirthler’s win in the Danny’s Pizza Pizzazz Modifieds came over third generation driver, Billy Osmun who had several restarts to challenge for the lead but Hirthler rallied each time.  Three-time feature winner and current point leader, Dillon Steuer finished third, challenging Osmun all the way to the finish.  Mike Lisowski, also making this his first season at Bridgeport, finished fourth with Neal Williams in fifth.

The Ice Less 602 Sportsman feature followed the Modified main event.  Jesse Hirthler drove his No, 117 onto the track so that he could share in his dad’s Insta Sign Plus Victory Lane before taking his place in the starting line-up of the next feature.

Austyn Myers took the early race lead with challenges coming from Charley Cossaboone.  By lap four, the top three spots were held by graduates of the 2025 DA’s Auto Body & Repair Rookie class as Rookie Champion, Mike Hughes led the way over Myers and Cossaboone.  Trent Willey and Hirthler completed the top five at this point.

Hughes led through lap ten as Hirthler closed in on the leader.  Hirthler had the No. 117 out in front on lap eleven as Matt Peck moved up to second.  Willey took over third on lap fourteen.

As the laps counted down, Hirthler caught the back of the field and lapped traffic played a role in the final laps.  Hirthler concentrated on hitting his marks and led the way to the checkered for the win over Peck, Willey, Cossaboone and Billy Chester.  Travis Hill finished seventh followed by Hughes, Jax Yohn, Joe Toth and Myers.

Thomas Radivoy set a new benchmark in the Victory Fuel Wingless Sprints by being the first to win three times this season.

Polesitter, Dan Leaper led the first lap of the feature event before Radivoy took the lead.  Radivoy led every lap to the checkered followed by Stan Ploski III, defending champion, Brian Spencer, David Swanson and Jonathan Swanson.

Pulling double duty, Mike Hughes raced to the win, in the Insta Signs Street Stocks with a hard charging Bailey Tolson finishing in second.  Kevin Heckman finished third to capture the final podium spot.

Joe Garey, Sr. started the Insta Signs Plus Four Cylinder feature as the race leader but Eric Degler had his No. 1 out in front before the field reached the stripe to complete the first lap.  The racing action centered in the positions behind the leader as Garey, Sr., Roger Kummerer, Lee Allen and Joe Garey, Jr.

Degler took the win with Kummerer winning the race for second over Garey, Sr.  After battling throughout the race, Lee Allen finished fourth followed by Joe Garey, Jr.

The Delaware Super Trucks made their first ever appearance on the High Banks and the drivers found the track to their liking.  Sean Martinez raced from last to first to take the win in the final laps over

LJ Walbert, TJ Williams, Steve Portillo and Chase Carter.
