Much-Anticipated Doug Hoffman Memorial, Short Track Super Series Event This Weekend at Bridgeport!

SWEDESBORO, NJ: Bridgeport Motorsports Park is gearing up for an exhilarating start to its 2025 racing season with the much-anticipated Doug Hoffman Memorial Short Track Super Series (STSS) weekend, scheduled for March 21 and 22. This annual event not only honors the legacy of racing legend Doug Hoffman but also brings together top-tier drivers for intense competition on the renowned South Jersey track.

The two-day spectacle kicks off on Friday, March 21, with a lineup presented by ICE LESS LLC. The evening features the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series (MASS), Street Stocks, 4-Cylinder Stock Cars, and special timed sessions for Modifieds and Sportsman divisions. These timed sessions are crucial, as the fastest drivers secure advantageous re-draw positions in Saturday’s feature events. 

The excitement escalates on Saturday, March 22, with the main events. The STSS Modifieds: Drivers will battle it out over 60 laps, vying for a substantial $6,060 winner’s purse while the STSS Sportsman will contend in a 44-lap race offering a $4,444 prize to the victor, adding to the competitive fervor of the weekend. 

Additional races on Saturday’s ticket include the North East Wingless Sprints (NEWS) and 4-Cylinder divisions, ensuring a diverse and action-packed program for racing enthusiasts.

The Doug Hoffman Memorial consistently attracts elite talent, and this year is no exception. Fans can look forward to seeing:

• Stewart Friesen: A dominant force in Northeast Modified racing, Friesen’s past performances at Bridgeport include a notable victory in the “King of the Big Blocks” event, underscoring his prowess on the Northeast Dirt Racing Circuit. 

• Billy Pauch Jr.: Hailing from Frenchtown, NJ, Pauch Jr. has a rich history at Bridgeport. His recent achievements, such as the 2024 Modified Champion, makes him a formidable contender in the STSS 60 lap event. 

• Matt Sheppard: A five-time STSS North Series Champion, a three-time STSS South Series Champion, & a ten-time and reigning Super DIRTcar Series champion, Sheppard’s consistent performances have solidified his status among the sport’s elite. Sheppard’s 50 STSS  victory’s ranks him first amongst the STSS All Time Winner’s list.
